New AHS Season Inspired by Clowns and Election

November 9, 2017
American Horror Story is an American horror, thriller, and drama television show that has just come out with it’s 7th season: Cult.
The show started back in 2011 on FX with it’s first season Murder House, and each season features mostly different characters and a completely different storyline.
Recent seasons have been called Murder House, Asylum, Coven, Freak Show, Hotel, My Roanoke Nightmare, and now Cult.
The new season aired on Sept.5 2017 and is set to air 11 episodes.
The show takes the fears of their viewers and makes them a reality. This season especially exploits a fear viewers never thought they had until they watched the show.
It’s called Trypophobia and it is a fear of irregular patterns or small clusters of holes and bumps, as pictured in the image.
The first episode aired the show got major backlash on showing images of Trypophobia, and most people were upset because they had never had this fear before.
I started watching the show after Coven came out and fell in love. It does get a little scary sometimes and it has some mature content in it but it’s a great show.
I went back and watched all of the seasons but my favorite is still Coven which is about a witch Coven in New Orleans taking place in modern times and flashing back to 1800’s America.
The new season Cult is centered around the latest presidential election and one of the main characters hates President Trump and starts having anxiety attacks.
She’s been getting followed and attacked by a clown Cult but no one seems to see them but her. While her life takes a turn for the worst her next door neighbors and a news reporter join a man named Kye to regain control of the town, which means terrorizing them with clown masks on.
The police don’t make a big effort of helping the victims of the clowns and each day there seems to be another violent attack happening to someone in the town.
Most American Horror Story lovers say that this is the best season yet.
The cast of this season is pretty much all new except returning actors Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, and Emma Roberts. The rest of the cast consists of Billie Lourd, Colton Hayes, Cheyenne Jackson, John Carroll Lynch, Adina Porter, Frances Conroy etc.
Although there are a lot of fictional elements in most of the seasons, this season seems to really focus on the real life experiences of Americans and recent political and social events.
The show brings to life things like protests, elections, and marital issues.
I really enjoy the show because it has just the right amount of horror mixed in with real life issues, and mystery.
This is my 3rd favorite season coming in behind Coven and Murder House.
Other seasons have featured more of a diverse cast but this one does offer some diversity within its cast, just not as great as its other seasons.
The other seasons of the show have become very popular featuring big actors like Jessica Lange, Angela Bassett, Kathy Bates, Lady Gaga, and Matt Bomer.
Recent seasons have received a 8.6 review out of 10 which is very high. The show is directed by Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk.
This season will air it’s last episode on Nov.14.
I truly think this series is great and if you’re up for some horror and drama you should watch too, but under parental supervision.
