New Teacher: Eric Kenyon
August 28, 2018
New Job:
I will be teaching Geography, World History, and Honors World History. I am also the Freshman Football Coach here at Rio.
Education:
I went to Rocklin High School and graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, in 2017. I was a history major and was elected Phi Beta Kappa. I did my teaching credential at Sacramento State University.
In high school, all I really did was play football and focus on school. In college, it was all academics and working to pay for expenses.
Professional:
Since this is my first official year as a teacher, I worked part time at restaurants both in Rocklin and when I was at school in Berkeley. Working weddings at a golf course restaurant/event venue was probably the most interesting, albeit not that exciting.
Interesting Jobs:
Nothing really fits this question, but my student teaching was at a very different situation at Highlands High School.
Family:
My father is a teacher who now also teaches at Rio. He teaches science. My eldest sister also teaches history at Rocklin High School. My mother is a retired dietitian and my other sister owns a spin studio in Land Park.
Personal:
Football dominates most of my life at the moment.
Accomplishments:
Just your neighborhood history teacher and football coach.
