Student Of The Month
Every month there is an excelling student that is picked for receiving the “Student of the Month” award. The subject chosen changes every month, this month’s class was ILS.
Xylan Taukave’Langam was picked for this month’s award by ILS teacher Tracy Baker. He just started to know Baker this year and they instantly formed a good relationship/
“He is an exceptional student, has a strong work ethic, he is kind to staff and always has a smile on his face,” said Baker.
It was a difficult choice for Baker to decide, but Taukave’Langam is the most well rounded student that she has. Baker thinks highly of him for an abundance of reasons.
“It was a hard choice for me to pick just one person, or else I would have picked more,” said Baker.
Taukave’Langam is a senior who attended Encina for two years until he was able to switch schools and come here.
“Yes, this is a way better school than Encina was, if you have been there you would understand why I say this,” said Taukave’Langam when asked which school he liked better.
When receiving this award Taukave’Langam felt a wide range of emotions.
“I was very surprised when I heard that I was receiving this reward. At the same time, I was very excited to see that my hard work had paid off,” said Taukave’Langam.
Taukave’Langam and Baker think very highly of one another, both in and out of the classroom.
