BASEBALL MAINTAINS A WINNING RECORD
Varsity baseball is holding on to a strong season with a record of 10-8.
Guillermo Salazar holds the highest batting average and the most runs with with a .426 average and 18 runs.
“I feel like I am seeing the ball better than before and making better wings on the pitches I want to hit. If I get on base, I look for any way I can to advance to the next to put me in better scoring position” said Salazar.
Freshman Josh Savea has also been playing strong with 8 RBIs. Savea enjoys playing for the team and working with coach James Wheeler.
“It’s cool that the coach accepts you as another individual equal to the talent of the other players,” Savea says.
The team started off league strong with a 17-1 win against Mira Loma.
“It was a good experience. Many of our players got a chance to get their feet wet out on the field. It gave us an opportunity to mix up our lineup a little. Overall it boosted our morale for future games” said Senior Trent Ellerman.
Varsity continued to win in league with a final score of 8-7 against Ante-
