On Nov. 4 in the Rio Americano library a meeting with PG&E occurred. During the meeting details about the trip were discussed and two students out of Dibble’s APES classes were selected. The choice fell on Matt Grossman, who made the video about the project, and Max Glenn, who built one of the solar suitcases and explained how it works. Students don’t really have any expectations for the trip, as they said the best way to go is not having any expectations at all, but they’d like to see how different the culture in Kenya is and how we take some things for granted like electricity and running water, while they don’t. It can change the way students view the world. By going to Kenya students can see how efficient they are with Kenya’s resources and using just as much as they need. Grossman and Glenn were also interviewed by the news channel KCRA3.
